Ella Fox-Martens was born in Canada and raised between South Africa and Western Australia. Her writing has been published in The Atlantic, The Baffler, The Drift, Literary Review, The Fence, The Telegraph, The Guardian, Hobart, Forever Magazine and elsewhere. She is an assistant editor at Scribner UK, and lives in London.

Her debut novel Visiting Hours is forthcoming in 2028 from Picador Books in the United Kingdom and Dutton Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House, in the United States.

She is represented by Kat Aitken at Lexington Literary.
